DIY felt jewelry. Master Class. Felt rose Felt flowers

DIY felt flowers + Photo

Various felt flowers are currently in fashion. Such flowers are quite easy to create with your own hands, and they look very elegant and beautiful. They can decorate various outfits, and such flowers are especially relevant on warm clothes during the cold season.

To create a flower from felt we will need:

Felt, which can be any suitable color.

Scissors

Glue gun and fabric glue

DIY felt flowers step by step:

Take a piece of felt and cut a strip about 4 centimeters wide, about 30 cm , you can choose any length, which will determine the size of the finished flower. Fold it in half and glue the ends (Figure 1).

The distance of cutting the felt will determine both the appearance of the flower (its shape) and its petals (Fig. 4). In the first option, the distance between the cuts was about one centimeter, and in other cases the distance was from 0.6- 0.7 centimeters.

Also, the flower can be created in slightly different shapes by making diagonal cuts (Fig. 5).

You can use these flowers to decorate your clothes or make hair decor by attaching the flower to a headband, hairpin or brooch.

In addition, you can make a whole composition of flowers. For this you need to create several flowers and use an extra piece of green felt for the leaves. You need to make a couple of stitches along the leaf, as shown in Fig. 6.

Finally, glue a hairpin or a pin to the base of the composition and feel free to decorate its clothes and various accessories, for example a fabric bag (Fig. 8).

Making a flower from felt is not only simple, but also very exciting. The craft can take 30 minutes or the whole day, everything will depend on the complexity of the chosen flower, as well as on the diligence applied.
There are two types of working with felt - wet and dry felting. Dry involves working with a special needle and is suitable for larger items. For crafts such as flowers, wet felting is perfect - it will not only be faster, but also more convenient.

So, in order to make a flower from felt using wet felting you will need:

  1. the felt itself (usually a couple of harmonizing colors are used for a fake);
  2. detergents (or their substitutes, such as shampoo, soap);
  3. an ordinary kitchen rolling pin;
  4. mosquito net;
  5. a cloth to remove all excess;
  6. scissors, thread;
  7. the board on which the work will take place.

In order to start making your product, you need to think about it in advance: it will be two-color or one color, thick or thin, large or small. First, you will need to answer these questions for yourself, and then proceed directly to the flower.

So, felt is laid out on a board, the size of the desired flower: first the first layer is laid, then the second. After this, cover everything with a mosquito net, add a little detergent and hot water so that the felt becomes damp (it is advisable not to flood the product, but only slightly moisten it). At first, it is advisable to grind everything by hand, only then use a rolling pin. The rubbing process involves running your fingers over the felt, and working with a rolling pin is reminiscent of making dough. You need to pass over the product as many times as possible in order to bond the felt together. For convenience, you can turn the future flower over and do the same.

After all this, a certain shapeless figure emerges, which is subsequently trimmed with scissors and turns into a model of a flower. You can sew the middle with threads, wrapping it beautifully in the center.

To decorate the middle, you can use either a beautiful bead or make a small circle using dry felting. To do this, you need to take and felt a small amount of felt in your hands in the form of a ball, then put it on a sponge or washcloth and knock it down so that the shape resembles a circle.

The process of knocking down is quite a dangerous task, so you need to make sure that the needle does not damage your fingers. The middle is sewn on, since the glue does not look very nice on felt and is quite noticeable.

Using this simple method, you can create flowers of extraordinary beauty, you just have to use your imagination a little.

A big and warm hello to everyone! I really like handicrafts, and for quite a long time felt has been on the list of my favorite materials for creativity. The material is truly wonderful, amazing and easy to use. I have already shared my work with you and published several articles with ideas. And today there will be another piece of inspiration, which I hope will encourage you to try to make something with your own hands, for example, flowers from felt.

Flowers don't do anything for them. These include ribbons, fabric, foamiran and polymer clay. Each technique has its own highlights and its own beauty. But the easiest one, in my opinion, is the one in which felt is used during the manufacturing process. Even a novice craftswoman can easily and simply make a charming decoration in 10-15 minutes.

By the way, the buds can also be used to decorate pillows, clothes, make bouquets or. In general, their use is not limited to lying in a box. Even photo frames will look a hundred times better if you decorate them with felt flowers. And what kind of hairpins they make for girls – beautiful!

Felt flowers

What is women's favorite flower? That's right, roses! And they are quite easy to make from felt. To do this, draw a circle, a spiral on it and cut it out, and to give the bud relief and naturalness, you can cut out the blank, making small waves.

Flowers - poppies can also be made in various ways. But both the first and second options deserve high praise.

Charming chrysanthemums look very beautiful, and are quite easy to make: cut out a strip of felt, fold it in half lengthwise and cut it with scissors every 3-5 millimeters. Then the workpiece must be rounded and secured with glue. In the middle, if you go, you can glue a bead or another center.

And the next felt flower of extraordinary beauty is made from petals, which are folded in a special way and glued to a circle - a blank.

As you can see, you can make not only voluminous flowers from felt, but also flat ones. They are easy to make and can be used for home decoration, arranging bouquets and making accessories.

Very delicate buds, and their composition is simply breathtaking.

Here is another selection of photographs of felt flowers, look and be inspired.

Felt jewelry

Every woman wants to look attractive. To do this, we follow fashion, take care of ourselves, and dress up. Decorations occupy a special place. Some people prefer jewelry, such as gold, silver, stones, and so on. And some people don’t mind wearing jewelry. But you can make a beautiful necklace, bracelet, earrings or headband with your own hands and decorate it with felt flowers.

Handmade is in fashion now more than ever, so don't miss the opportunity to show off your creation. After all, you will have an absolutely exclusive item that has no analogues, which means it costs more than any diamond. Here are some ideas for inspiration.

Felt bouquets

When I first saw such bouquets, my delight knew no bounds. It turns out that even such material can be used to make flower arrangements, and they are quite capable of competing with ribbons and foamiran. The main thing in this matter is to show imagination and know the basics of floristry. Much depends on the color combination, the theme of the bouquet and the technique of making buds. This is such beauty!

Which felt is best to use for making flowers?

In order for the products to be of high quality and look “expensive”, it is best to choose felt made in Korea or Spain. From my own experience I can say for sure that Chinese felt is not durable; it rolls up very quickly and loses its appearance. The only thing it is suitable for is “training” - although it wouldn’t be a shame to throw it away.

Depending on what kind of flower you are going to make, hard or soft felt will suit you. If the bud contains many petals and you need to crush them somewhere into an accordion or bend them, then most likely the second option will suit you; for the rest, the first option will be suitable.

I often buy felt and recommend this: this shop. There you can buy different types of felt, different colors and shades. You might like sets or individual sheets. And the prices are loyal and even lower than those of other sellers.

That's all for today! Create beauty! See you again!

Master Class. Felt rose

My name is Anisimova Tatyana. Recently I have become interested in felting and continue to work tirelessly on it, devoting all my free time to felting.

For your competition, I wanted to offer a master class on making a “Rose” brooch. Such small handmade felt decorations really decorate our lives, whether they are on clothes or elements in the interior, and are finding more and more fans among those who wear them with pleasure, and those who want to learn how to make them themselves.

My master class is a kind of relay race, taken over from, who showed how to make a rosette from organza; her master class was published in 2009. Of course, our roses are different, made from different materials, with their own nuances. I think that girls create magic with their own hands and get beautiful products no matter what they use for work: fabric, thread and needle, or a tuft of wool.

In 2010, I also took part in your watermelon hat felting competition.

I wrote this master class in detail, focusing on beginners. Maybe felting will be the first time for someone, and my lesson will help them make a flower like this or another one of their own. And I wrote in detail, because there are no specific rules in felting and each craftswoman has her own felting skills. In your work, you mainly rely on your feelings from owning wool. But when the stages of work begin to be repeated, you realize that there is no fundamental difference from what kind of product you are felting. Felting consists of processes such as: idea, pattern construction, wool laying out, lapping, hand felting, rinsing and drying. It’s precisely the first three, from idea to layout, that take a lot of time and a tireless mental process, when, like the rest, it’s just technique and sensitive hands.

When I started felting myself, it seemed to me that the wool behaved unpredictably. And now, before starting work, you think for a long time and imagine the thing as you would like it to turn out, you follow your path, and, as a rule, you get justified results.

I am very interested in following the process of transforming wool from a skein into a finished product, I am happy to share my experience, and I hope that the participants of your site will like my lesson!

Master class review

01. I decided to take the baton from Victoria Akhmetshina and show how you can also make a felt rose. The rosebud is assembled in the same way as in, and you can make the fabric base from wool by wet felting.

Felting materials and tools used in this work:

  • Semenovskaya fine unspun wool (bright pink, marsh, pistachio), semi-fine (cherry, rosemary)
  • Bubble film
  • Nylon fabric
  • Felting needle
  • Rubber and polyethylene gloves
  • Soap solution (1:10 dishwashing liquid).

We will lay out the flower without a pattern. The lower petals of the rose will lie beautifully and naturally if they are initially laid in a circle, and the middle of the bud is collected from a straight strip of wool.

What is universal about felting is that we can lay out the wool in the configuration that we need, and we will not have any waste and trimmings, as when cutting fabric. For a flower decoration, it is important to spread the wool thinly so that later the product is not thick and does not resemble felt boots. This is handmade, so we ourselves can adjust the thickness of the strands that we pull out of the skein.

We take the skein in our left hand, and with the tips of the thumb and index fingers of our right hand (for a right-handed person) we grab the very ends of the wool.

02. Pull out a thin strand without effort. You can even pull out a very thin, transparent strand. You can see from the strand that its ends on both sides also have different thicknesses. In the place where we held with our fingers there is a strand with thick thick ends, and the strand ends with thin and uneven hairs.

03. We begin the layout on the bubble wrap, and try to do it so that the elongated strands are of the same thickness. First, we lay out the strands in a circle, placing them with thick ends on the outline of the circle. Having spread it out? parts of the circle, we continue it into the layout of a strip of vertical strands.

04. The dimensions of the circle are arbitrary, as far as the length of the elongated strand allows (this is our radius). The length of the strip can be made 50-80 cm. This part will curl into a bud and its splendor will directly depend on the length.

05. We lay out the second layer of wool in thin horizontal strands around the circumference.

06. This is what the layout of a horizontal layer and in a straight line looks like. The second layer will secure the wool during felting from spreading and forming holes. It is like the interweaving of threads in a fabric; there are lobar and transverse threads.

07. On top of the layout we decorate the wool of the main color with other shades of pink that are available. You can also use natural and artificial fibers. Decorating will always add picturesqueness to your product. I used some rosemary and cherry.

08. For the flower, we also need to lay out the leaves. We gather strands of “swamp” wool several times to make the leaf a little denser than the thickness of the flower.

09. Add the “pistachio” color and gently mix the leaf in your hands.

10. After collecting the wool, press the leaf against the bubble wrap and use your index finger to curl its thick tip. This will be the outer tip of the leaf.

11. For the flower we make three leaves and place them together. We cover the joints with thin strands and decorate if necessary. We need, when connecting three leaves, there was enough space in the center (taking into account the shrinkage of 40%) to then place the bud and sew it on.

12. Cover with a nylon cloth, spray with soapy water and rub in. There should not be a lot or a little water, but enough to ensure that the surface of the coat is completely moistened. At first, rubbing in is just blotting movements, then you can rub with force. The wool should connect to each other in a plane.

13. During grinding, we periodically lift the nylon fabric so that the wool does not fall on it.

14. In the intermediate stage of grinding, we will take the following step: onto the base of the rose strip we will bend the thin ends of the wool that protruded beyond the edge and we deliberately did not cover them with a horizontal layer.

15. This is how we ended up doing it. Thus, we secured the internal contour. Cover with nylon cloth and continue grinding.

16. Let's turn the product over to the other side and bend the thin ends of the outer contour 5 mm and rub it in. If your rose is a single color, then this could be done before turning the product over. I wanted the multi-colored edge decoration to remain on the front side, so that the protruding tips of the main color could cover it up.

17. The lapping is ready. It’s okay that the workpiece turned out to be a little uneven, this is to our advantage, since the petals of a rose should not be the same.

18. This is what the lapping looks like from the front side. The product is ready for felting in your hands.

19. Moisten with soapy water and roll in your hands. We protect our hands with gloves. Gently crumple the lump in your hands, but so that it doesn’t really fall into a lump, the product must be constantly unfolded.

20. Unfold and smooth it on the table, curling the ends of the leaves.

21. We hold the product in our hands a couple of times and make an imitation of petals. We apply three fingers, press, make several vertical movements along the bubble wrap (we press a little vertically). Rubber gloves with pimples provide grip on the surface of the wool and the pimply film, the hand does not slip, and the wool falls easier.

22. We press the index finger and press it with force to create a constriction.

23. This place won't stretch anymore.

24. We repeat the constrictions throughout the entire flower blank, at equal distances.

25. We roll the flower and leaves in our hands until ready (crumple and straighten), rinse in warm water, straighten and dry.

26. The flower blank can be steamed with an iron through gauze and a needle can be used to deepen the constrictions of the petals, modify the outer edge if there are any unevenness, or make a figured edge.

27. During drying, the leaves can be wrinkled and shaped so that they look natural. Roll the flower into a spiral and dry it like that.

28. We collect the bud. We sew the inner edge with a basting stitch and tighten the thread. Pulling will give volume to the petals. We roll up the bud and stitch its layers with a second thread. We fix the thread with a double stitch through certain stages of folding the bud, when we are sure that it turns out beautifully.

29. The rose is assembled, now you need to sew it to the sepals with a hidden seam so that this part of the flower is subsequently closed. Sew on a pin.

30. Our cute rose is ready and it is ready to decorate any clothes, handbag or headdress.

Don’t hesitate, release your muse and create ^_^

The master classes are very simple; children can create bright felt flowers with their own hands (of course, under the supervision of adults). Afterwards, the finished flower can be used as a decoration: decorated in the form of a brooch, hairpin or attached to a hair elastic; as an element of room decor: simply put in a vase or, for example, decorate with decorative pillows.

Let's start with several options for making felt roses.

Felt roses

Which girl doesn’t dream of receiving “a million scarlet roses” as a gift? After all, roses are delicate, exquisite flowers, a true symbol of femininity and beauty. Below are 3 workshops that will help you get your own felt roses.

Simple felt rose

Felt is a material that provides opportunities for imagination and creativity! You can make many interesting and unusual things from it, as well as flowers of different types. This rose is one of the ideas and probably the simplest! Anyone can do it without any special skills.

You will need:

A small strip of pink felt, scissors, a bead and a needle and thread.

Cute felt rose by rolling method

Cut a strip of felt and make a zigzag edge as shown in the photo. It should taper slightly towards one edge.

Roll up the strip, starting from the narrow part and working towards the wider part.

To secure the rose, sew it by making several punctures at its base.

A small bead in the center will be an attractive accent! Just sew it on the top of the flower.

Decide for yourself what will decorate this beautiful and easy-to-make flower!

Two-tone rose

Creating this two-tone rose will give you pleasure, and its shades are the main feature!

It looks realistic, but will take a little longer than the rosette according to the previous MK.

Look how nicely the two colors of felt combine in this rose!

To cut a circle, simply take any round shaped object and press down on the material. Drawing with a pencil on felt is a rather difficult task, but this way everything can be done quickly and easily!

Now simply cut out the resulting circles. Make circles from two different colors of felt and different sizes - large, medium and small, and then cut each circle in half.

Next, work with each semicircle separately. First, take the smallest semicircle and start rolling it, then take a semicircle of the same size, but of a different color, thus continue working, twisting the petals from smaller to larger.

Each petal must be secured with thread.

Attach petal by petal, changing the color each time, finishing the work when you realize that the rose has formed. You can sew a bead into the center if you wish.

Well, what do you think about this flower? Will you try to do it? You will not regret it!

Delicate rose brooch

DIY jewelry is always distinguished by its originality and uniqueness. You don’t have to worry about seeing something like this in a group of friends or at parties. It will always be loved, because it is in it that the warmth of your hands and your creativity have been invested.

The felt rosette looks so realistic and tender that many will envy such a decoration.

To make a rose you will need:

Pink and green felt, scissors, needle and thread.

Draw five circles on the felt (you can trace something round for this) and cut them out using scissors. Make the edges of the four resulting circles wavy, as if they were petals. Take green felt - it will make two small leaves like in the picture.

First, take an even circle and sew two green leaves with a few stitches. Then start working with the remaining circles. Each one needs to be folded into quarters as shown below.

Sew these circles alternately to the middle of an even circle.

Our rose is ready! See how simple it is! It can be attached to a pin or hair tie, decorate your home or gift box. It will always look cute, and, most importantly, it doesn’t take much time to make.

In dreams of summer...

Basic elements of flowers

You can vary the prepared flower parts to create unique pieces and have fun. I loved putting together the most unusual flowers and seeing how the colorful pieces fit together. I'll show you three specific flowers that I came up with, but please be free with your creativity.

Narcissus

You will need: three equal parts of a flower in different shades of the same color, one button and a thread of your choice.

Place the pieces on top of each other so that the petals do not match, but look out from under each other. Place the button in the center and sew through all three layers, tying a knot on the wrong side.

Camellia

You will need:

The inner, largest part of the camellia, the outer part of the flower is slightly smaller, a blank center and matching thread.

First place the larger part of the flower on the table, place the smaller part on it and place the middle of the flower on top. To sew the layers together, pull the thread along the outer edge of the center, catching it, and pull the thread back to the inside.

Sew in this manner along the entire edge of the center.

Buttercup

You will need:

The prepared center of the flower, its main part, the leaf of the flower and matching threads.

Sew the center to the main part in the same way as you sewed the camellia flower, through the outer edge. A green leaf is sewn to the back with small stitches.

Here are a variety of buttercups:

In addition, you can sew anemones from felt in the same way according to the following master class:

Shutdown

I'll give you some practical tips on how to use bright flowers. To do this you will need hair bands, hairpins or pins.

The flower can be sewn onto an elastic hair band; work carefully and take your time. For girls, you can make a flower ring in the same way.

You can secure the flower to a pin with thread as shown in the picture. Make stitches evenly, without piercing the front side with a needle.

Sew the flower to the hairpin, making stitches on the right, left and in the middle. Make sure nothing is visible on the front side.

These are just a few ideas and examples of what you can do with flowers. They can also be sewn together as a garland or attached to a shirt. Get creative and create your own floral charm!

Other felt flowers

Bright sunflowers

Bright sunflowers are associated with hot summers. No wonder their name comes from the word “sun”. These large bright flowers create a joyful mood and give us their warmth. They say that the presence of these flowers in the house brings good luck, which means it's time to make them!

Vibrant sunflowers are so easy to make and so fun. Of course, it will take a little time, but you won't regret it. If you want to make the same flowers as in the photo, continue reading and follow the instructions below.

Start by cutting out a circle from black felt, and then cut out squares from yellow felt - 18 large and 12 small.

Now take one yellow petal at a time, roll it up and sew it to the middle with a few stitches. Continue working around the entire circle, placing them close to each other. Don't worry if you haven't used all the petals if there are some left over. Nobody's counting!

Cut out two circles of black or brown felt, one larger and one smaller. Make cuts along the edges of each of these circles.

Sew a few beads into the very center. Your bright sunflower is ready! Sew several more similar flowers of different shades and sizes.

Such sunny felt sunflowers

And here is a video tutorial on sewing sunflowers from felt from Elena Volodkevich

Beautiful chrysanthemums

Almost all flowers created by nature can be made from felt. Today it's time to decorate your home with felt chrysanthemums. Although they do not smell, they will bring mood to the house, and can also become an excellent decoration for a blouse or jacket.

This flower is similar in its execution technique to the higher-growing sunflowers

Fabulous? Yes! Cheap? Certainly! Easily? Undoubtedly! Want to make one like this? Prepare squares of three different sizes. You will need about 12 of the largest ones, 10 slightly smaller ones and 7 small ones.

Give each square a petal shape as shown in the photo. You can cut them out the way you want, of course, they won’t all turn out exactly the same, but in nature there are no identical petals. For the base, cut out a circle.

Start sewing each petal with several stitches to the circle, folding them at the base.

Sew the petals close to each other, securing them well. The photo shows a flower with 11 petals.

Start sewing the next row, closer to the middle. Continue sewing the petals in the same way as the first row. The second rad will consist of 9 petals.

For the third row, use about 7 petals, the petals should completely cover the middle.

Take the unused squares and cut them into circles. Make cuts in a circle.

Place the smaller circle on top of the larger circle.

Sew them into the middle of the flower. When you pull the thread, the circles will lower, and the cut parts will rise up and look up.

It’s not a shame to give such a bright flower for a holiday =)

OK it's all over Now! Beautiful chrysanthemums will delight you even in winter.
